A billboard for a Minneapolis museum has been replaced, after someone spray-painted clothing and the word “Brrr!” in red over its depiction of a nude, 16th-century Venus painting.
The advertisement is for the Minneapolis Institute of Arts’ exhibition of works by the Italian master Titian. The museum chose to feature the famous “Venus Rising from the Sea” painting on the ad because “it’s very typical of paintings in the show,” said MIA spokeswoman Anne-Marie Wagener.

A month after Blair Griffith won the Miss Colorado USA pageant last October, the 23-year-old beauty and her ailing mother were left homeless after sheriff officers evicted them from their Denver-area home.

When you go through the eviction process, they basically come in and throw all your belongings into trash bags and you have no idea where anything is. It’s very difficult.”

Every one of the 1,926 teachers working for the Providence, Rhode Island School Department was sent a dismissal notice this week, in a move officials say was necessary to deal with a projected deficit of almost $40 million next year.
According The Providence Journal, “School and city leaders said they were forced to issue the mass dismissal notices because of a state law that says teachers must be notified about possible layoffs or terminations by March 1.” Ouch! In a statement, Mayor Angel Taveras said that because the deadline for the layoff notifications comes before the budget for next year could be determined, the move was necessary.
