Well, this just has “bad idea” written all over it: Tilikum, the orca whale who mauled and drowned a female trainer at Orlando, FL’s Sea World will begin performing in front of crowds again this week.
The whale will participate in the park’s main killer whale show, which is titled Believe.

The death made headlines worldwide, and led SeaWorld to spend millions making safety upgrades. The incident also sparked federal and civil lawsuits against the water park.

The change may come because the F.D.A. has reportedly asked a panel to review the evidence on the link between artificial colorings and health problems in children. For years, the F.D.A. has insisted that artificial colorings are totally safe, and it maintains that the dyes are not harmful to most children.

This past Friday the Bronx Zoo’s Reptile House noticed that they were missing one of their residents: a venomous Egyptian cobra.
The zoo immediately locked down the Reptile House until further notice, hoping that the 20-inch snake will come out of hiding. However, it seems the asp is far from shy as she has since joined the Twitter community.
Under the name BronxZoosCobra, the “snake” began tweeting it’s thoughts on Monday, documenting its trip around Manhattan.

There was a time not so long ago that found us all swapping paperbacks with our friends. Then we discovered the Kindle. More and more people are buying ebooks rather than paperbacks. Until recently there was no way to swap ebooks with friends. It was no surprise that most e-book fans were excited to hear about Lendle, a service that would let you share your Kindle books.
It looked like the old days of book sharing were back but with technological advances. Unfortunately, before the service could even gain traction Amazon revoked their API access. This rendered the site useless, leaving readers with no option for book sharing.
