Cancer isn’t just a disease that affects the humans in our lives but it also touches our pooches. One in four dogs is diagnosed with cancer and 50% of them will die from the disease. Sadly, the cost of treatment can be astronomical, leaving some families no choice but to put Fido down. Then, there are owners who spare no expense only to lose Fido anyway. No matter how you look at it, the disease is a dreaded diagnosis. But, what if we could eradicate canine cancer?

First ladies have always had a cause to support during their husband’s term as President. Michelle Obama is focusing on childhood obesity, Laura Bush supported literacy and Nancy Reagan had the famous “Just Say No!” campaign against drugs. While these ladies have had an impact on the country, it doesn’t come close to the legacy of the late former First Lady Betty Ford. Some historians believe her imprint on the country may be greater than that of her husband's.

When TLC launched their new show Extreme Couponing, we all got to see the crazy women who shop with stacks of coupons for quantities of items they don’t really need, all for the thrill of seeing a $300 bill reduced to $3.00. One episode featured a family of three with $30,000 worth of products stored in their basement. They will never use it all and most likely it will go to waste.
Thankfully, there are a few who use their mad coupon skills to donate products to those in need. Rebecca Newman of Tampa, Florida is putting her skills to work to help disaster victims.
