One of the most well-known shoe companies is issuing an apology after their attempt at creativity left them biting their tongues. They received a lot of criticism for branding a limited edition pair of shoes “Black and Tans” in honor of St. Patrick’s Day.  What they didn’t know is that “Black and Tan” doesn’t make Irish people think of the combo of a pale ale and a dark beer. It reminds them of a time when the people of Ireland were slaughtered by a paramilitary group!

The Mob Museum, Las Vegas

Al Capone, Bugsy Siegel and John Gotti have been given the chance to tell their true stories in a former federal courthouse in downtown Las Vegas. On February 14th, which happened to be the 83rd anniversary of the St. Valentine's Day Massacre in Chicago, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement was opened to the public. It's as close as you can get to the Mob without being asked to wear a wire.

Over 41,000sq.ft. of interactive exhibits, one-of-a-kind artifacts, and high-tech theater presentations are displayed across three floors of the historic building where the famous Kefauver Committee hearings were conducted in 1950.

After the release of James Cameron’s hit 1997 film, Titanic, the theme song “My Heart Will Go On” by Celine Dion would be forever tied to the images of the sinking ship. So, the fact that that particular song, tied to the story of love and death, would be playing in a restaurant on the Costa Concordia as the ship began to sink is beyond ironic. It’s downright unsettling! And, it’s not the only creepy similarity between the two tragic accidents.
