Finland claims to be home of the mobile phone so naturally the country would be the location of the Mobile Phone Throwing World Championships.
Described as "the only sport where you can pay back all the frustrations and disappointments caused by these modern equipments," the championship resulted in a new world record set by one Finnish teenager.

Extreme ironing is an underground sport with a small but dedicated following. And, not only is it a sport, it is a sport that is entering its eleventh year of competitive play. Phil Shaw – known as “Steam” in the extreme ironing world – came home from work one day and could not bear the thought of being indoors tackling the pile of clothing that needed to be pressed. One inspiration and a very long extension cord later, he was in the garden, enjoying both the outdoors and what participants describe as “the satisfaction of a well-pressed shirt.”

South Korean archer Im Dong-hyun's acheivements would be impressive under any circumstances -- he brought home Olympic gold in the last two games for team archery, and has won a slew of other awards including four world titles and four Asian Games gold medals -- but, possibly most impressive of all is that he's done it all while legally blind.

It’s not a huge surprise that women are self-conscious going into beach season but some of the sacrifices they are willing to make in exchange for the perfect bikini body are. In a recent survey in Shape magazine they revealed some summertime stresses and what most ladies were willing to give up in order to score the physical appearance they are aiming for.
