We’ve speculated about the fate of The Office for months, and now it seems NBC has finally made up its mind. Yesterday, the series’ original showrunner, Greg Daniels, announced the upcoming season of The Office will be the series' last, though he promised to make it one to remember.

“We’re planning a very big exciting last season,” Daniels told reporters yesterday. “We’re going to have a lot of faces coming back. All questions will be answered this year. We’re going to see who’s behind the documentary. Now that we know we have an end date we can blow things up and take some chances and it will be very freeing, creatively.”

shark week

It's Shark Week, our nation's annual Jaws-related freakout festival. While sharks can be scary (those videos of them extending their jaws always make me shudder) they are actually less of a danger than cars, dogs, lightning, and even dry-cleaning bags, which are implicated in about 25 unintentional deaths a year. The Sookie Stackhouse novels brought us True Blood, and now another of Charlaine Harris’s series is headed to television sets across the country – Grave Sight.

Named after the first novel in Harris’s four-book series, Grave Sight will follow the adventures of Harper Connelly, a young woman who was struck by lightning as a teen and now has the ability to sense the location and final memories of the dead.

The fifth season of True Blood is two months away, and yesterday the folks at HBO offered up another teaser trailer to whet the appetite of America’s Truebies. However, many fans are wondering about the fate of Tara Thornton, the outspoken character last seen protecting Sookie from a murderous werewolf.

Netflix might be making themselves a bit more accessible in the near future. Last week, CEO Reed Hastings said that having cable operators offer his streaming video service was the natural direction to move in, but that it probably wouldn’t be soon. Well, his definition of ‘not soon’ might be a little different than most others because he’s already chatting with “some of the largest U.S. cable companies,” according to Reuters!

There are a ton of people out there who were pumped to watch the Super Bowl because they are major football fans, but there’s also a huge amount of people that show up to the game-day parties and festivities looking forward to the killer commercials! This year was no disappointment in that department!
