24 hours and 18 minutes – that’s how long it took an Austin guitarist to set a new world record for the longest guitar solo.

David DiDonato, a member of an Austin metal band known as Modok, began his record-breaking quest on 7 p.m. Sunday night (May 13). DiDonato played for a total of 24 hours and 55 minutes, with five-minute breaks thrown in every hour. He recorded much of his performance at Austin’s Red 7 on UStream.tv. Check out a few riffs above.

How long do you think it will be until some other guitarist sets a new solo record? I call upon the amazing talent of Rise of Saturn to give it a shot.

Sherrie Zerba United States on 5/19/2012 10:44 AM I personally learn something much more demanding on different blogs day to day. It will always be stimulating to read articles from other authors and exercise something from their store. I’d choose to apply some of your respective written content on my blog in case you don’t mind. Needless to say I’ll supply you with a link on my web page. Many thanks for sharing.
