The fifth season of True Blood premieres Sunday, June 10, and what better way to celebrate the return of Sookie Stackhouse and the gang than by downing festive cocktails whilst playing a True Blood drinking game? Here’s everything you need to have a bloody good premiere party. Feel free to add your own drinking game rules, recipes in the comments below.

True Blood Drinking Game

Take a drink every time….

1.    Layfayette calls someone a colorful name, like bitch or hooker.
2.    Someone gets down and dirty.
3.    Sam wipes down the bar while looking perplexed.
4.    Sookie tells someone off.
5.    A fairy, witch, or demon appears onscreen.
6.    Someone dies.
7.    Someone cries (two drinks for bloody vampire tears).
8.    Jason appears with his shirt off.
9.    Sookie screams or beats the hell out of someone/something.
10.   Someone shifts into a wolf, dog, panther, owl, gecko, whatever
11.   Tara gets sassy (if she’s still around, that is)
12.   Sookie uses her powers to read people’s thoughts.
13.   Someone says the word fang banger.
14.   Pam rolls her eyes or says something snarky.
15.   Eric bosses Bill around.

True Blood Cocktails

Plasmapolitan

Tru Blood (available in HBO store)
Citron vodka
Cointreau
Fresh lime juice

This is a drink that should be served in a martini glass. Fill your glass with ice and set aside. Fill your cocktail shaker half full with ice and add 2 oz Citron, 1/2 oz Cointreau, and the juice from one lime. Shake until cold. Dump the ice from your martini glass and strain your liquid from the shaker. Top with Tru Blood.

Tru Blood (available in HBO store)
Vodka

Make sure that vodka is ice cold and mix two parts Tru Blood to one part vodka. Serve over ice.

The Bon Temps

Wet the rim with blood orange & dip the glass in a cinnamon/sugar blend.

1oz Honey Bourbon
3/4 oz Cinnamon Liquer
3/4 oz Ginger Liquer

Shake
Pour in a glass, top with Tru Blood
Garnish with a cinnamon stick

Too sweet for your taste? Switch the honey bourbon to regular bourbon.
